Merry Christmas (also memorial service info)

December 24, 2010

Debbie here again. I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you so much to all of you that have offered support and encouragement to our family these last few weeks. It means a lot to us to know that Jill was so loved and cherished by many of you. The family is hanging in there. It’s difficult, but you support and prayers have made a difference.

I also wanted to let you know that we finally have a date, time and place for a memorial service. It will be on January 15th, 1:00pm at Burien Evangelical Church (500 SW 146th St, Burien, WA 98166). If you have memories of Jill that you would like to share, you will have that opportunity at the service. If you won’t be able to attend, feel free to write something here. We’ll print everything out. If there’s enough time, we’ll read them at the service. What we don’t get to read, we’ll keep in a memory book that will be available for everyone to look at.

There are a couple of websites you can visit now to read some more memories of Jill and see some photos.

God Bless all of you and your families as you celebrate the birth of Jesus. Merry Christmas!

Debbie

Thank you. I am going to skip over the holiday comments as lost too many this year during this time. I think one of the Fam’s has our comments and I’ll see if she can share or if she can’t. Thinking of you all!

Thank you for the memorial information, Debbie. I will not be able to attend Jill’s memorial but I will be there in spirit.

If I may add to Babs touching post,
May Jill also tap dance with Fred Astaire.

    Merry Christmas,
    Ellen

Thank you, Debbie, for the info regarding the memorial for Jill. Although I will be unable to attend, I must add that in addition to “soaring with eagles” and “dancing with Fred Astaire” she will be adding insight on “Heaven’s Blog”. So good to have known you and we look forward to being reunited someday soon! Maybe I can add my scrapbook touches to your blog…

    Love to the whole family!

Mom will be there. I was at her birth and her death so I will be at her memorial. She was s special person to me, along with her siblings, and I will not miss the rest of the “program”.We shared a lot of sad moments and a lot of really happy moments ( like Hank and Daniel). Grandma Meggie was a special person to her. I can say Jill was always very intelligent and able to “sort” things out. Teaching school was wonderful for her. She borrowed my books about teaching and I was very glad to give them up to her. She may never have used them. I didn’t see my methods used. She had her own way of doing things, Good ways too. I could have used her in my Health Care classes. Those people didn’t know how to put two words together and come up with sense. I will let someone else read this or put it in the book. I miss my child and do not think I could read this without becoming emotional. Thank you and God Bless you all for being her friends. Mom

Debbie, I have put together a number of memories/thoughts regarding Jill on behalf of the “FAMS” (Forum Addicted Mothers), Jill’s group of on-line friends. That compilation however is very long! She was indeed a well loved woman.

If you or one of the sisters/mom could email me at jakk@sasktel.net I’l love to send it to you, and then you can further share in whatever way you wish.

Thinking of you all, Kim (JakKim)

Dear Hank and Daniel and Family,

Our prayer for you today is that you will rest and immerse yourself in God’s love like a cocoon, feeding on his word and to be reminded that God’s love does not go up and down, it is always there and always the same. ‘ Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on earth beneath; there is no other. Deuteronomy 4:39
We love and miss Jill and pray that remembering her today is a comfort and start of healing for all.

God bless you, Colleen and Ed Oates
